The Divi AI Agent is a command interface built into the Divi 5 Visual Builder that understands plain language and takes real actions on your website.
Instead of clicking through settings panels and repeating the same task twenty times, you describe what you want, and the Agent does the work. It can build layouts, edit modules, update design settings, create pages, manage menus, work with Theme Builder templates, and much more.
It can also look at screenshots, websites, and other reference material and use them as inspiration for your designs.
How the Divi AI Agent Is Different From Divi AI
Divi AI generates things for you - text, images, code, and layouts - inside the field or module you are working in. You point it at a spot, and it fills that spot.
The Divi AI Agent works at a different level. It is a conversation that can inspect your whole page, understand your site's structure, and then carry out multi-step work across many elements at once.
It doesn't just hand you content to paste in. It adds, edits, clones, moves, and deletes elements, changes design settings, updates presets, configures Canvases, and navigates the builder for you.
What You Need to Use the Divi AI Agent
To use the Divi AI Agent, you need:
Divi 5. The Agent is built into the Divi 5 Visual Builder.
An active Divi AI subscription. The Agent is available to Divi AI subscribers only.
Note: There is no free trial for the Divi AI Agent. If you don't have a Divi AI subscription, there are two ways to get it:
Upgrade to Divi Pro, which includes Divi AI along with the rest of the Divi product suite.
If you already subscribe to Divi AI, you already have access. There is nothing extra to install or activate.
How Divi AI Agent Usage Is Billed
Divi AI Agent usage works differently from the rest of Divi AI.
Text, image, and code generation outside the Agent interface are covered by your Divi AI subscription. The Divi AI Agent runs on your AI Wallet balance instead, because it sends requests to AI models on your behalf, and those models charge per request.
Note: Your Divi AI subscription includes a $5 monthly balance. Once that's used up, you can add funds to your AI Wallet to keep going.
Here is how it works:
Divi connects to AI models through OpenRouter, which provides access to hundreds of models from different AI companies.
Each AI company sets the price of its own models. Elegant Themes does not control those prices and adds only a small percentage to cover transaction and business costs.
Every Divi AI subscription includes a $5 balance for Agent usage, which resets to $5 each month according to your subscription date. Unused balance does not roll over.
Add funds to your AI Wallet anytime. Purchased funds are used after your monthly balance runs out.
Note: Because prices are per model, how far your balance goes depends on which models you use and how large your requests are. Simple, focused requests on efficient models cost very little. Rebuilding a full page with a top-tier model costs more.
How to Open the Divi AI Agent
![Screenshot: the Divi AI Agent icon in the Divi 5 builder sidebar, with the chat window open]
The Agent lives in the Divi 5 Visual Builder alongside your other builder tools.
Open a page in the Divi 5 Visual Builder.
Click the Divi AI Agent icon in the builder sidebar.
The Agent chat window opens. Type what you want and press Enter.
The chat window stays available while you work, so you can keep talking to the Agent as you edit the page yourself.
Build Layouts From Almost Anything
![Screenshot: a layout being generated in the Divi 5 builder from a screenshot uploaded to the Agent]
You can start with a blank page and describe what you want, or give the Agent something to work from. It can turn several kinds of reference material into a complete Divi layout:
A written brief. Describe the page in plain language and let the Agent build the layout from your description.
A screenshot or mockup. Upload an image of a design and have it rebuilt as a real Divi layout.
A website URL. Point the Agent at a page and ask it to create a similar design.
A moodboard. Upload a collection of reference images and let the Agent pull out their shared style.
What you get back is not a static image or a pile of generated code. The Agent builds real Divi sections, rows, modules, content, and styles that you continue editing normally.
Edit Existing Layouts by Asking
The Divi AI Agent is just as useful after a layout exists. Ask it to redesign a hero section, rearrange modules, change colors, adjust typography, rewrite content, or update spacing.
It understands Divi's structure, so you don't have to explain where each setting lives.
It also works with Divi's design systems. You can ask it to use your global variables, consolidate repeated styles into presets, or replace hardcoded values with reusable design variables to make an existing website easier to maintain.
In many cases, something that used to take dozens of clicks is now one sentence.
Get Repetitive Work Done in One Pass
Building the big pieces of a website is only part of the job. It's usually the hundreds of small tasks that eat the day. Because the Agent can inspect an entire page and make coordinated updates in a single pass, it is especially good at sweeping changes.
You can ask it to:
Add missing alt text and improve accessibility settings.
Find inconsistent colors and consolidate them into global variables.
Standardize typography, spacing, buttons, and other repeated styles.
Improve responsive layouts across desktop, tablet, and phone.
Fix spelling, grammar, punctuation, and capitalization.
Refine messaging and calls to action across a whole page.
Find oversized images and other inefficient assets.
Review custom CSS and JavaScript and clean up unnecessary code.
Instead of opening twenty modules to make the same adjustment twenty times, describe the result you want and let the Agent work out what that involves.
Give the Agent Rules, Commands, and Context
The chat window is a workspace, not just a prompt box. You can save rules that tell the Divi AI Agent how you like to work, create reusable commands for tasks you repeat, attach reference images, and pull specific website content into the conversation.
Save rules for your website
![Screenshot: saving a rule in the Divi AI Agent]
Rules give the Divi AI Agent persistent guidance about your website and how it should approach its work. You might define your brand voice, set your preferred layout conventions, or tell it which design variables and presets to use.
Save those instructions once instead of repeating them in every conversation.
Turn repeated prompts into commands
If you ask for the same thing over and over, save the prompt as a reusable command. Commands are triggered directly from the chat, which turns a complicated multi-step instruction into a repeatable workflow.
Common candidates are accessibility checks, responsive cleanup, content reviews, and design system audits.
Add context from your website
You can reference specific modules, pages, media, and other site content so the Divi AI Agent knows exactly what you are talking about. To discuss something on the current page, click the element and add it as context. You can also attach screenshots and reference images when showing is easier than explaining. The more relevant context you give it, the more useful the Agent becomes.
220+ Divi Skills
Under the hood, the Divi AI Agent has more than 220 purpose-built skills for working with Divi and WordPress.
These are not generic AI capabilities. They are specific tools for understanding Divi modules, modifying settings, working with layouts, managing global design systems, controlling the Theme Builder, interacting with WordPress, and searching Divi documentation.
That distinction matters. A general-purpose chatbot has to guess how Divi works. The Divi AI Agent has tools that let it inspect your actual website and perform the same actions that are available to you throughout Divi and WordPress.
Work with WordPress without Leaving the Builder
The Agent isn't limited to the page you have open. It can perform site-level tasks that would normally mean jumping back and forth between Divi and the WordPress dashboard.
Note: The Agent's "outside the builder" skills are more limited than its in-builder skills. The focus for this release was helping you inside the builder.
Pages and posts
Create, update, duplicate, publish, unpublish, and schedule pages and posts from the conversation. You can also ask it to find content across your site, retrieve page links and custom fields, or run multi-step publishing workflows.
For example:
"Create a new Services page as a draft and add it to the main menu."
"Schedule this blog post for next Tuesday at 9 am."
"Find all unpublished pages and give me their edit links."
"Duplicate the About page and rename the copy to Our Team."
Menus, Theme Builder templates, and global settings
You can also work with navigation menus, Theme Builder templates, Divi Library items, Theme Options, and other site-level settings through the same conversation.
Create and assign Theme Builder templates, inspect your site's configuration, update supported Theme Options, or reorganize navigation without digging around in wp-admin.
Ask the Agent for Help with Divi
The Divi AI Agent is also a Divi expert you can ask for help. Rather than leaving the builder to search documentation or opening a support ticket for a quick question, ask it directly.
It can search Divi documentation, inspect the modules and settings on the page you're working on, explain how features work, and help diagnose problems using the context of your real website.
Questions like:
"Should I use Flexbox or Grid for this section?"
"What's the difference between presets, variables, and global elements?"
"Why isn't my Theme Builder template applying to this page?"
"How do Divi's aspect ratio options work?"
In many cases, it can go a step further. Once it has identified the problem, you can tell it to fix the issue for you.
Choose the AI Model that Works Best for You
![Screenshot: the model selector in the Divi AI Agent chat window]
Different AI models have different strengths, speeds, and costs, so the Divi AI Agent is not tied to a single model.
You can choose from hundreds of available models, or let Divi automatically pick an efficient model for the task at hand.
That means you can use stronger models for complex work and faster, less expensive models for simple jobs without changing how you work.
Pro tip: More capable models cost more per request. If you are doing something simple, like fixing typos across a page, a faster model will do the job and use less of your balance.

Coming soon: MCP Support
A future update will add MCP support to Divi 5, which will let you connect your own API key.
If you already pay for AI model access elsewhere, that means you will be able to build using your own personal AI Model Access. We'll update this article when that update ships.

Why is Divi AI Agent usage metered when the rest of Divi AI isn't?
The Agent sends far larger and more complex requests to AI models than a single text or image generation does, and those requests are priced per use by the AI companies that own the models. Divi connects to those models through OpenRouter, passes on the model price, and adds a small percentage to cover transaction and business costs.

Can the Agent recreate any website exactly?
Can the Agent recreate any website exactly?
No, and that's not what it's for. When you give it a URL or a screenshot, the Agent creates a similar design using real Divi sections, rows, and modules. Treat the result as a strong starting point that you refine, not a pixel-perfect copy.
