Stuck on something the Divi AI Agent did, or didn't do? Find the symptom below and jump straight to the fix.
The Agent Icon Is Missing
The AI Agent icon only appears in the Visual Builder toolbar if you're running Divi 5 and have an active Divi AI subscription. If you don't see it, check your subscription status first. The Divi AI Agent in Divi 5 covers what's included and how to get access.
My AI Wallet Balance Is $0
This is expected the first time you check. Your monthly balance isn't credited the moment your subscription starts - it lands in your AI Wallet the first time you sign in to the Agent inside the Divi 5 Builder. Sign in once from the chat window and the balance should appear. For more details, check the Divi AI Agent Billing and Your AI Wallet article.
Sign-In Problems
If clicking Log In produces the message "Divi AI sign-in could not be opened.", try again - it usually means the sign-in window didn't open cleanly. If it keeps happening, check that your browser isn't blocking pop-ups for this site.
If you're already signed in but something seems off, log out and back in: click Log Out, then Log In again. One thing worth knowing: logging out disconnects the Agent on your end immediately, but the message you see afterward depends on whether Divi's servers could confirm the disconnection too.
If they couldn't, you'll see "You were logged out locally, but remote revocation could not be confirmed." That's not a failure you need to act on; your local session is already disconnected.
The Agent Will Not Change Anything
This is by design, not a bug. You're in Ask mode, which can look at your page and answer questions but genuinely cannot make changes to it - there's no setting to make it act while staying in Ask mode. Switch the mode toggle in the composer to Build, and it can carry out the request. For more details, check the Ask Mode and Build Mode in the Divi AI Agent article.
The Agent Is Waiting, and Nothing Is Happening
Look for an Approval Required message in the chat with Approve and Reject buttons. The Agent has reached an action that needs your say-so, and it will not continue, retry, or skip it on its own - it just waits.
Click Approve to let it proceed or Reject to skip that action and move on. For more details, check the Approvals and Risk Levels in the Divi AI Agent article, which covers what triggers these and what each risk level means.
I Cannot Restore to an Earlier Point
The restore option sits on your own messages, not the Agent's replies - look for it there first. If it's grayed out, one of five things is blocking it:
A restore confirmation is already open
A restore is already in progress
An action is awaiting approval
You're editing a Global Preset
The Agent is still responding
Clear whichever of these applies, then try again. For more details, check the How to Manage Conversations in the Divi AI Agent article, which covers Chat Restore in full.
My File Will Not Attach
The AI Agent only accepts JPEG and PNG images, TXT, HTML, and CSV text files, and font files. Markdown, JSON, XML, YAML, PDF, and source-code files are rejected outright.
On top of that, there is also a limit of 15 attachments per chat, 10MB per file, and 5MB for text files - going over either limit is another common cause of a rejected attachment. For more details, check the How to Add Context to the Divi AI Agent article, which covers attachments and every other way to hand the Agent specifics.
The Result Is Not What I Asked For
This is almost always a request-quality problem, not a limitation of the Agent. Three fixes cover most cases:
Be specific. Say exactly what "done" looks like instead of describing it loosely.
Add context. Point the Agent at the actual element, preset, or variable you mean rather than describing it in words.
Scope it. Aim the request at one section instead of the whole page.
For more details, check the How to Write Good Prompts for the Divi AI Agent and How to Add Context to the Divi AI Agent articles, which cover all three in detail. If the result has already landed and it's wrong, use Chat Restore to undo it, then retry with a tighter request.
Responses Are Slow or Low Quality
Both usually trace back to the same two settings: the model and the reasoning effort. A cheaper, faster model handles simple edits fine but can struggle with anything that has several moving parts; raising reasoning effort helps quality on hard requests but slows the response down.
If a response feels rushed or off, try a stronger model or a higher reasoning effort; if it feels slow for something simple, try the opposite. For more details, check the How to Choose an AI Model for the Divi AI Agent article.
My Balance Is Going Down Fast
Three things drive this:
Which model you're using,
How big the job is, and
How long a conversation runs.
A premium model on a large job costs more per request, and a conversation that keeps growing keeps paying for everything already in it, not just your latest message.
Pick a cheaper model for simple sweeps, scope big jobs into smaller requests, and start a fresh chat for a new job instead of extending an old one. For more details, check the How to Choose an AI Model for the Divi AI Agent and Divi AI Agent Billing and Your AI Wallet articles.
The Agent Stopped Mid-Task
If you clicked Stop Generating, that's expected - it halts the current run right where it was, and the transcript shows "Generation stopped." to confirm it.
Anything already done up to that point stays done; anything after it simply didn't happen. If you stopped it because the request was too large or heading the wrong way, retry with a smaller, more specific scope rather than repeating the same request.
Still Stuck
If none of the above covers it, reach out through The Support Center in Divi 5.
