How to Convert a Global Section, Row, or Module to Non-Global

Learn how to convert a global section, row, or module to non-global in Divi, allowing for independent customization and greater flexibility.

Updated over a week ago

Global sections, rows, or modules in Divi allow for consistent content across multiple pages, but sometimes, you may need to make specific changes without affecting other instances. Converting a global element to a non-global lets you customize it independently.

This article will guide you through the process of converting a global section, row, or module to a non-global one, giving you more flexibility in managing your website’s content.

  1. Right-click on the Global Element (Section, Row, or Module)

  2. Choose the Disable Global option from the Contextual Menu

  3. (optional) You can also click the Three Vertical Dots icon and choose the Disable Global option from the Contextual Menu.

Important Note:

  • An item can be made non-global on specific pages only. We can not make a global element non-global by directly making it non-global from the library.

  • After choosing the Disable Global option, the same element must be saved to the Divi Library again to make it Global, and the Save as Global option must be enabled in the saving modal window.
