The Change Column Structure option is only available for rows that have their layout set to Flex in the Design tab → Layout.
The Change Column Structure allows you to make changes in how the columns are laid out inside a Row after the Row has been added to the layout.
Change Column Structure location
You can change a row's column structure using two different methods:
By using the Change Column Structure action icon.
By editing the Row's settings and using the Change Column Structure option under the Content tab.
In both cases, you will be presented with a new modal window from where you can select any of the avaiable pre-made column structures. Those two options allow you to change the current Row's structure without any additional steps; however, we can also change the column structure manually by duplicating existing columns or adding new columns.
Changing the Column Structure by Adding New Columns
Edit the Row for which you want to change the current column structure.
Click on the + Add New Column button to insert new columns.
Notes:
Changing the column structure from 1 column to 2 columns will automatically set the correct Column Class.
Starting with the 9th Column requires manually changing the size of each column, using the Column Class option.
Changing the Column Structure by Duplicating Existing Columns
Edit the Row for which you want to change the current column structure.
Click on the Duplicate icon of any existing columns.
Edit each of the Columns.
Go to the Design tab → Sizing → Column Class.
Set the correct Column Class based on the number of columns you currently have.
This method requires manually editing each column and selecting the correct Column Class value, based on the number of columns you have.
For example, let's assume that the Row initially has 3 columns. That means each column has the Column Class set to 1/3. If you clone any of the existing columns, you must manually set the Column Class option to 1/4.
Changing the Column Structure Using the Change Column Structure Option
Edit the Row for which you want to change the current column structure.
Click on the Change Column Structure option.
From the modal window, choose the new column structure you want to use.
Notes:
If the chosen Column Structure has more columns than the initial structure, click on the + Add New Column button to add the remaining columns.
If the chosen Column Structure has fewer columns than the initial structure, click on the Trash icon to delete the columns.
