In this article, we will guide you through using Divi AI to generate images for your website. Our step-by-step instructions will help you utilize AI to produce stunning visuals, including backgrounds, banners, and illustrations.
AI Image Generation
Generating images with Divi AI is simple. You tell Divi about your image, choose a style, and let the AI get to work. Within a few seconds, Divi AI will create four unique images. If you like one, you can generate additional variations to hone in on the perfect result.
Generating Images with Divi AI can be used in two different ways:
Generate with AI - Requires your input on what type of image you want to generate, what style, choosing a reference image (optional), what aspect ratio the image should have, and also what size
Generate Automatically—This is the automatic process by which Divi AI generates a new image based on your page context. It is usually used when you already have a layout in place, including other images and related text.
Note: If you are unhappy with the first result, you can use the New Description field to instruct Divi AI on the type of image you want.
Generate an Image using the Generate with AI option
Open the Image module settings by clicking on the Gear icon
Click on the AI icon
Choose Generate with AI option
Choose an Image Style. This allows you to set a style for your image. Settings include photo, digital painting, concept art, vector graphics, 3D render, drawing, abstract art, comic book, watercolor, painting, anime, cartoon, or none.
Provide an Image Description for the image you would like to generate.
Choose a Reference Image (optional). The reference image option allows you to upload an image that Divi AI can use as a style reference.
For example, if you like a certain image's overall feel and style, you can upload the image as a reference and then use the image description to make a completely new image based on that reference image.
Furthermore, you can adjust the Reference Image Influence dial to adjust how much you want the reference image to impact your description (and vice versa).Choose the Aspect Ratio. The default value is a 1:1 (squared) aspect ratio.
Choose the Size of the image. Depending on which aspect ratio has been selected, entering a desired width value will automatically update the height value to match the selected aspect ratio.
Click on the Generate button
Choose and use one of the 4 Images that Divi AI generates, or you can keep generating another batch of 4 Images
Notes:
Once Divi AI generates the first four images, you can keep generating batches of four new images, choose the image you want to use, or modify the selected image by providing a new Image Style and a new Image Description.
If you want to generate an image that doesn't fit into any of the available aspect ratios, choose Custom Size
Advanced Options for AI Image Generation
Besides the Image Styles, which allow you to choose the style of the image that will be generated and the Image Description, you can also upload a Reference Image and choose the Aspect Ratio and the Image Size.
Image Style: Choose the style of the Generated Image
Reference Image (optional): If your image is based on a particular look or style, you can upload a reference image here.
Aspect Ratio: Choose from square (1:1), landscape (8:5), portrait (3:4), or add a custom size.
Size: Set a custom size for your image.
Generate an Image using the Generate Automatically option
Open the Image module settings by clicking on the Gear icon
Click on the Divi AI icon
Choose Generate Automatically option
Divi AI will generate 4 images based on your entire page content. This option is best suited for use when the page where the image module exists has content such as other image modules and text-based modules.
Example Use Case: Using the Generate Automatically option
On a page, import the Fashion Stylist Landing Page premade layout
Add the Image module and open its settings by clicking on the Gear icon
In the Content Tab → Image, hover over the Divi AI icon
Choose Generate Automatically option
Choose one of the 4 generated images and click on the Use This Image button
Edit an Image with AI
The Edit Image with AI option allows you to make further changes to any image on your page for making different edits, such as:
Modify: Add new elements or modify existing elements within an image. You can use a brush to highlight the area you would like to change or use the sketch interface to add a rough sketch of an object you would like to add
Expand and Fill: Expand the image’s width and change the image's aspect ratio. Divi AI will seamlessly fill the blank space, giving you a new image that fits into your design
Upscale: Scale the original image 2, 3 or 4 times.
Enhance: REmoves any unwanted artifacts and can increase the Saturation, Contrast, and Level of details. The Enhancement Strength slider allows you to choose the level of Enhancement applied to the new image.

Improving AI Images and Using Quick Actions
You can improve any existing image in Divi using Divi AI. In fact, some of the best results can come from improving images that you have already generated by Divi AI.
Open the Image module settings by clicking on the Gear icon
Click on the Divi AI icon
Choose one of the following options:
Generate and Replace: Generate a new image automatically without using the current image as a reference
Reimagine: Generates a new set of 4 images using the original image as a reference
Change Style: Change the style of the currently selected Image
Upscale: Quickly change the current image size. You can increase its current size 2, 3, or 4 times. In addition, the Custom size option allows you to define a new size for the image

One of the most useful quick action options for an existing image is the “Reimagine” option. This can transform regular images into magical works of art
Open the Image module settings by clicking on the Gear icon
Click on the Divi AI icon
Choose the Reimagine option for the existing image
Choose the best image from the suggestions given by Divi AI
Choose the Improve With AI option for the new image
In the Image Description field, add a short description regarding the changes you want to make
Choose the level of influence the image should have
Click the Generate button and choose your favorite result from the suggested images

Important note: The more descriptive you are when creating the prompt, the better the results are.
