This article will guide you through adding a WordPress site with a 2FA or captcha-protected login to Divi Dash by using the connection key method.

When adding a WordPress site that uses two-factor authentication (2FA) or captcha-protected login to Divi Dash while using the WordPress Username and Password connection, you will encounter the following message:

We were unable to connect your site. This could be due to a CAPTCHA or other layers of security. Please download and install the Divi Dash plugin and connect your website using a connection key.

Add the WordPress site using a Connection Key

  1. Download the Divi Dash plugin to your computer

  2. Log in to your WordPress Dashboard

  3. Go to Plugins β†’ Add new

  4. Click on the Upload Plugin button (at the top)

  5. Click on the Choose File button and choose the zip file downloaded at Step 1

  6. Click on the Install Now button

  7. Click on the Activate Plugin button

  8. You will be redirected to the All Plugins page. Click on the Divi Dash Connection link

  9. Click on the Connection Key field to copy the Key to your Clipboard

  10. Go back to your Divi Dash page and click on the Use Connection Key Instead link

  11. Paste the Key copied in Step 9 into the Connection Key field

  12. Click on the Add Website button

Important Note:

  • If you are still experiencing issues with adding WordPress to your Divi Dash, please ensure that any 2FA or other security restriction plugins are deactivated. Once the site is added, you can re-enable those plugins.
