How to edit the default Divi Footer

Edit or remove the default Footer Widgets that ships with Divi theme.

The default Footer of the Divi theme consists of two sections straight out of the box.

  • Top Footer, which displays the WordPress Widgets called Archive and Categories

  • Bottom Footer, which displays the Copyright and the Social Icons

Remove/edit the WordPress Widgets displayed in the Top Footer Area

  1. Go to WordPress Dashboard → Appearance → Widgets

  2. Expand the Footer Area #1 widget area

  3. Remove the existing widgets or add new WordPress widgets

Pro Tip: The Top Footer area accommodates 6 columns of widgets, each with a unique widget area name:

  • Footer Area #1

  • Footer Area #2

  • Footer Area #3

  • Footer Area #4

  • Footer Area #5

  • Footer Area #6

We can control the Top Footer's number of columns from Appearance → Customizer → Footer → Layout → Columns Layout.

Change the Copyright text from the Bottom Footer area

  1. Go to WordPress Dashboard → Appearance → Customize Footer → Bottom Bar

  2. Add your custom copyright text

Edit the default copyright text

Set the links for the social icons displayed in the Bottom Footer Area

  1. Go to WordPress Dashboard → Divi → Theme Options → General Tab

  2. Set the Social Platform URL for each of the following options:

    1. Facebook Profile URL

    2. X (former Twitter) Profile URL

    3. Instagram Profile URL

    4. RSS Icon URL

Pro Tip: If you don't want to display an icon, make sure no URL is set.
