You can follow the documentation below to integrate YouTube API to your site

Updated over a year ago

Step 1. Please login to your YouTube account and then go to this URL to access Google Developer Console https://console.developers.google.com/

Step 2. Click on Create button to create a new project.

Step 3. On the next screen, you can give any name to the project and click on the Blue color Create button. In this example, I have named the project as monarchintegration.

Step 4. On the next screen, you will see the option to enable APIs. Click that link.

Step 5. Select the list of YouTube APIs on the next screen.

Step 6. On the next screen, click on YouTube data API V3.

Step 7. Double check if the YouTube Data API v3 is enabled - you should see the API Enabled message:

Step 8: Click on the Manage Button, and from the left sidebar, go to the Credentials section:

Step 9. On the next screen, click on the Create Credential option:

Step 10. Select the API Key:

Step 11. Copy the API key using the Copy button:

Step 12. In the Monarch settings, add the Youtube option from the social follow tab and fill in the following values in the below screen.

In the HTTP field, copy/paste the channel URL. In the name field, use the channel id ( if your channel URL is this https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuasRuWliU48RwnKXf9GesA.

Note: The bold highlighted part is the channel id which needs to be added in the name field).

In the API key field, copy/paste the API key you got from step 11.

Step 13. Click on the Authorize button, and if all goes well, you will get an Authorization Successful message.

Now you can add a Monarch widget anywhere on the site to dynamically show the YouTube followers count.
