Overview

DonDivi - Divi Menu on Media

DiviMenus On Media adds a new Link Type, On Media, to the DiviMenus module, allowing you to place DiviMenus directly over images or videos in supported Divi modules. Once placed, you can trigger actions like:

  • Opening the media in a lightbox

  • Opening the media’s link

  • Downloading the media file

You have full control over how and where the menu appears (hover or always, and position inside the media container).

Supported Modules

DonDivi - Divi Menu on Media - Supported Modules

You can place a DiviMenu on the image or video of the following Divi modules:

  • Image

  • Fullwidth Image

  • Blurb

  • Gallery

  • Video

  • Slider

  • Fullwidth Slider

  • Post Slider

  • Fullwidth Post Slider

  • Video Slider

  • Blog

  • Portfolio

  • Fullwidth Portfolio

  • Shop

If you haven’t placed the DiviMenu over a module yet, the media options will apply to the Menu Item image instead.

Media and Media Links

  • Media = the image or video itself.

  • Media Link = the destination URL of that media.

Some modules allow you to set this manually (e.g., Image module with a Link URL), while others come with predefined media links (e.g., Blog and Portfolio use post/project URLs).

Media Options

Once the On Media link type is selected, you can assign one of the following actions:

  • Open in Lightbox
Shows the image or video in a modal, dimming the rest of the page.

  • Open Media Link
Opens the media’s URL (if any) in a new tab.

  • Download Media File
Downloads the image or video (not applicable to YouTube/external embeds, which open in a new tab instead).

Module Fields

  • DiviMenu On Media (toggle): This feature is enabled. A selected DiviMenu will be placed over the image or video. This overlay takes precedence over other module overlays.

  • DiviMenu: Select which DiviMenu from your Divi Library to display.

  • Display: Controls when the menu appears:

    • Always

    • On Hover
This field is responsive; set different behaviors per device.

  • DiviMenu Location: Choose where the menu appears over the image/video (top-left, center, bottom-right, etc.).

  • Overlay Color: Divi's hover options allow you to set a custom overlay color for the media and define a hover color.

Troubleshooting

Issue: Title Text Color changes depending on the module.

Cause: Some modules override global text styles.

Solution: Go to DiviMenus → Design → Titles and set a color explicitly (e.g., #FFF).

Important Notes

  • DiviMenus is required to use this extension.

  • You must first create your DiviMenu in the Divi Library.

  • As of version 1.0.4+, the DiviMenus On Media toggle is located at the bottom of the Design tab, not under Overlay.
