How to Rollback to Divi 4

Learn how to safely rollback and restore your entire website to Divi 4 from Divi 5 Public Alpha.

If you've run the Migration to Divi 5 Public Alpha but encountered issues or prefer the stability of the previous version, rolling back to Divi 4 is a simple process.

This article will guide you through the steps to safely roll back and reinstall Divi 4, ensuring your website remains functional and secure.

Note: Reverting to an earlier version using the Divi Theme Options is not recommended, as it will prevent you from receiving the latest Divi 4 updates.

Step 1: Rollback to Divi 4

  1. Log in to your WordPress website

  2. Go to Divi β†’ D5 Migrator

  3. Click on the Restore Divi 4 Content button

Clicking on the Restore Divi 4 Content button will revert the conversion to the Divi 5 framework.

Step 2: Reinstall Divi 4

Once the rollback process is complete, you must reinstall Divi 4 by downloading the latest version and overwriting the Divi 5 Public Alpha.

  1. Go to the My Downloads section

  2. Click on the Download the Divi Theme button

  1. Log in to WordPress Dashboard

  2. Go to Appearance β†’ Themes

  3. Click on the Add New Theme button (at the top)

  4. Click on the Upload Theme button (at the top)

  5. Choose the Divi.zip file, which was downloaded in Step 3

  6. WordPress will detect the previous Divi installation and will give the option to override with the new one (downloaded at step 2)

10. Click on Replace current with uploaded button.

You're all set! Your website is now back on Divi 4, and you'll continue to receive future Divi 4 updates.
