Updated over a week ago

The Divi 5 release focuses on enhancing performance and scalability, eliminating the use of shortcodes, and building a new and more solid API. All that and more will streamline the user experience, empowering developers and designers.

This article will provide an overview of Divi 5's key updates and planned features, helping you prepare for what's ahead and make the most of these enhancements.

⚠️ Note: Timelines and details may change; we cannot provide specific release estimates.

Divi 5 is an ambitious project, and we know the community is eager to try it. We're releasing it in 5 phases, with some features coming later. You can start using Divi 5 during the current Phase 3: Public Alpha if the missing features aren’t crucial to your workflow.

Phase 1: Developer Alpha

This will be an unfinished version of the Divi 5.0 API. It will give developers a glimpse into the future of Divi so they can start planning how their current Divi extensions will need to be adapted.

Phase 2: Developer Beta

This will be an unfinished version of Divi 5.0 with a finished version of the Divi 5.0 API. It will allow developers to start updating their extensions early, way before the official Divi 5.0 release.

Phase 3: Public Alpha (current phase)

We will start the public alpha with a “lite” version of Divi 5.0. This will be a fully functional version of Divi 5.0, but it will lack some of its current features and modules. It will allow many of our community to use Divi 5.0 and give us feedback. This will be suitable for building new Divi sites and testing, but it won’t be suitable for use on existing Divi websites due to its lack of features.

Phase 4: Public Beta

The public beta will start once all Divi features have been added to the public alpha and all feedback from the alpha has been addressed. This will be the finished version of Divi 5.0, pending any bug fixes found during the beta.

Phase 5: Official Release

Once we have addressed all feedback from the public beta, we will officially release Divi 5.0 as a standard update in the WordPress dashboard.

⚠️ Note for Developers: Check out our Divi 5.0 Development Roadmap for a more detailed overview of the features implemented and what's to come.
