How to Enable the WordPress Classic Editor

Enable the WordPress Classic Editor without a third-party plugin.

Updated over 4 months ago

WordPress 5.0 introduced a new editor called Gutenberg Editor (also known as Block Editor), and it does not allow users to switch to the previous WordPress Classic Editor.

To address this, we implemented a new option to enable the WordPress Classic Editor in the latest versions of Divi, Extra, and the Divi Builder standalone plugin.

When enabled, it will allow you to use the WordPress Classic Editor or the Divi Backend Builder.

Enable the WordPress Classic Editor

  1. Go to WordPress Dashboard β†’ Divi β†’ Theme Options

  2. Go to Builder Tab β†’ Advanced

  3. Enable the option Enable Classic Editor

Divi - Theme Options - Enable the WordPress Classic Editor
