How to Add a Favicon to Your Website

A favicon, or favorite icon, is a small but essential element that enhances your website's branding and user experience.

Displayed in the browser tab, bookmarks, and other places, a well-designed favicon helps your site stand out and makes it easily recognizable.

Add a Favicon Image using the Theme Customizer

  1. Log in to your WordPress website

  2. Go to WordPress Dashboard → Appearance → Customize → General Settings → Site Identity → Site Icon

  3. Click on the Select Site Icon button

  4. Choose the Favicon Image

  5. Click on the Publish button

Note: The Favicon Image should be at least 512x512px and have a 1:1 aspect ratio.

Add a Favicon Image using WordPress settings

  1. Log in to your WordPress website

  2. Go to WordPress Dashboard → Settings → General

  3. Click on the Choose a Site Icon button

  4. Choose the Favicon Image

Note: You can try using third-party services, such as App Icon Generator, to create a proper-sized icon file for your site.
