How to Access the WordPress Import Tool
Log into your WordPress account and navigate to the dashboard.
From your Dashboard, take a look at the main admin menu on the left side of the screen. Locate the link to Tools. That’s where you’ll find the Import tool.
Hover your mouse over Tools, where you’ll see the options to Import and Export. Click Tools to expand the menu, then select Import.
Export the Post and Pages from the other website
Before starting the import, we need to export the data from the second website first.
Step 1. Login to the website from where the data (posts and pages) should be imported to the new website.
Step 2. From Dashboard > Tools > Export, export everything:
This will create an .xml
file, which will contain all the data.
Import the Post and Page to the new website
Step 1. Login to the new website, go to Tool > Import, and select WordPress
Step 2. Select the .xml
file from the previous step and click on the Upload file and import button.
Step 3. Assign the new content to your current WordPress username.
