How to Clear Browser's Cache

Clearing your browser's cache is an essential step to ensure you view the most up-to-date version of a website and resolve various browsing issues. Over time, cached files can cause problems with loading pages or displaying updated content.

In this article, we will guide you through the process of clearing your browser's cache across different browsers, including Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Microsoft Edge.

Clear the Google Chrome browser's (Mac) cache

  1. Click on Chrome β†’ Clear Browsing Data

  2. In the Time Range, select All Time

  3. Check the Cookies and other site data option

  4. Check the Cached images and files option

  5. Click on the Clear Data button

Clear the Google Chrome browser's (Windows) cache

  1. Click on the Settings Icon in the top right of the Chrome window.

  2. Select More Tools β†’ Clear browsing data

    Go to Chrome menu, select

  3. In the Time Range, select All Time

  4. Check the Cookies and other site data option

  5. Check the Cached images and files option

  6. Click on the Clear Data button

Clear the Firefox browser's cache

  1. Click Firefox in the Menu bar at the top of the screen

  2. Select Preferences or Settings, depending on your macOS version.

  3. Select the Privacy & Security panel.

  4. In the Cookies and Site Data section, click the Clear Data button

  5. Unchecked the Cookies and Site Data

  6. Ensure that the Cached Web Content option is checked

  7. Click on the Clear button

Clear the Safari browser's cache

  1. In the menu bar (top left of your screen), click History

  4. Click on the Clear History button

Clear the Microsoft Edge browser's cache

  1. Click Settings and more

  2. Go to Settings β†’ Privacy, search, and services

  3. Under Time Range, choose a time range from the drop-down menu

  4. Choose the type of browsing data you want to clear

  5. Select the Clear Now button.

Clear the Opera browser's cache (Mac OS)

  1. Click on the Opera option from the Top bar

  2. Choose the Settings option
