The Field Content Options tab allows you to manage the content and functionality of individual fields in the Contact Form module. You can set field IDs, titles, types, and conditional logic to customize how each field behaves and interacts with other form elements.

Where to Find the Field Content Options

  1. Open the Contact Form Module Settings: Click the gear icon or the module itself to access the settings.

  2. Add a new Field or edit an existing field: Select the field you want to customize and and click on the Gear icon.

  1. Field ID: Assign a unique identifier for the field.

    • Rules for Field IDs:

      • It must not contain special characters like ±, !, @, #, $, %, ^, &.

      • Spaces must be replaced with underscores _.

      • Only lower and uppercase English letters are allowed.

    • Example: Use first_name instead of First Name.

  2. Title: Enter a label to describe the purpose of the field (e.g., "Name," "Email," or "Message").

Field Options

  1. Field Type: Select the type of input for the field. Options include:

    • Input Field: Standard text input.

    • Email Field: Validates email addresses.

    • Textarea: Allows multi-line text input (e.g., for messages).

    • Checkboxes: Enable multi-selection options.

    • Radio Buttons: Allow users to select one option from a list.

    • Select Dropdown: Provides a dropdown menu for selecting one option.

  2. Minimum Length: Choose the minimum number of characters the fields should have.

  3. Maximum Length: Choose the maximum number of characters the fields should have.

  4. Allowed Symbols: Restrict allowed symbols (e.g., Numbers Only for phone numbers):

    • Letters Only (A-Z)

    • Numbers Only (0-9)

    • Alphanumeric Only (A-Z, 0-9)

  5. Required Field: Toggle to "Yes" to make the field mandatory before the form can be submitted.

Conditional Logic

  1. Enable: Toggle to Yes to apply conditional logic to the field.

  2. Relation: Define how multiple conditions are evaluated:

    • All: All conditions must be met.

    • Any: At least one condition must be met.

  3. Rules: Configure the rules that determine when the field is displayed.

Tips for Using Field Content Options

  • Organize Fields with IDs: Use meaningful Field IDs to simplify form data processing and email integration.

  • Validate Inputs: Ensure fields like email and phone numbers have the correct validation for accurate data collection.

  • Improve Usability: Use Titles and Field Types to make the form intuitive and easy to complete.

  • Leverage Conditional Logic: Show or hide fields dynamically to create a streamlined and relevant form experience.
