Understanding the Link Options in Divi 5

Learn how to make element clickable to link pages, sections, or sites and manage link behavior in module settings for easy navigation.

Updated over a week ago

Divi’s Link options provide the ability to create fully clickable modules, facilitating seamless navigation to alternative pages, sections, or even external websites. Within the module settings, you have the flexibility to specify the URL and determine the behavior of the link upon activation. This functionality enhances the user experience and streamlines the website’s navigation.

Where to Find the Link Options

  1. Open the Module Settings: Click on the module you want to link.

  2. Navigate to the Content Tab: In the Content tab, locate the Link option group to set up a clickable link for the module.

Link Customization Settings

  1. Module Link URL: Enter the URL you want to apply to the module. This setting makes the entire module clickable, allowing users to navigate directly to the URL when they click anywhere in the module.

  2. Module Link Target: Choose how the link opens when clicked:

    • In the Same Window: Opens the link in the same browser window. This is the default setting.

    • In a New Tab: Opens the link in a new tab, allowing users to keep their current page open.

Best Practices for Using Link Options

  • Direct Important Content: Use the Link URL on modules containing CTAs or critical information to make navigation straightforward.

  • Consider User Experience: Choose In a New Tab for external links to keep users on your site and In the Same Window for internal navigation.

  • Be Selective: Avoid applying links to too many modules on one page, which can create confusion.

The Link options provide a user-friendly and versatile interface, enabling you to control module interactions and enhance the navigation experience on your Divi website.
